Context and motivation of the project - legislative background/obligations, institutional policy, institutional structures

The project responds to the regional strategy of Tuscany in supporting reform processes of the system of vocational education and training. It is identified as one of the main factors of delay of Italy compared to the Lisbon targets the excessive separation of schools from that work, and reaffirm the centrality of the working world in the learning process. Therefore it represents the strategic training method for endogenous development of the school system. In this sense, the project intervenes through a process of Participatory Action Research on the main weaknesses highlighted during experiences of internships and by the paths of school-work dual education system.

Aims of the project

Valuing the concept of work as a reality and a founding value of the learning experience. Correlate the provision of training and development of the territory. Establish a connection of educational and training institutions with the world of work.

Methodological approach, activities implemented

The project has enhanced the experience developed in recent years in the area covered by the technical and vocational schools, with the aim of systematization and validation methodology and dissemination of tools and instruments of alternation in the curriculum reform. Through the convergence of activities to upgrade school tutors and company tutors and activities of tutors network we have offered support to the teachers engaged in the activities Alternating School-Work. The decision to use the methodology of the Participatory Action Research is dictated by the need to promote an integrated approach to educational research and social action. Actions provided Action 1: training programs targeted at school tutor Action 2: upgrade path and training of company tutors Action 3: Non-training: actions of tutoring network

Results and impact - data of program internal/ external evaluation, beneficiary satisfaction, the impact of the didactical practices at individual and institutional level

Dissemination of best practices used by the Educational Institutions of the Province of Siena and at the Chamber of Commerce of Siena. Better knowledge of the instrument of alternation in the light of the reform processes project in its numbers (of training hours, to provision sites, target achieved, for hours in order to run an impressive number of interventions), testifies to an effort weighty involvement of teachers, students and business mentors, standing out among the projects delivered in all the provinces of Tuscany such as a more quantitative impact and the lowest value of the indicators of cost. Noteworthy among the weaknesses of the persistence of a response "tepid" by companies to stress compared to a greater involvement in the design and evaluation of routes, while confirming the availability at the time of acceptance of the students.

Conclusions, lessons learned

The project has experienced a territorial integrated system of school-work. The project has produced an improvement of the professional status of the participants. Update model "sustainable", workshop.

Directions of further development/ Transferability, replicability
